Poland - Russia
During this bordertour I wanted to see some parts of the border between Poland and Russia as well. I had some difficulties in spring 2015 when I visited the
west part of this border, so I kindly asked for permission this time. I got the permission to approach the border until 12 meters but not to take pictures. It's
forbidden by law. |
Bareer From the little village Mażucie there is a path leading to the border. A bareer and some warning signs prevent you from crossing the border illegaly. On the background the borderpoles 2091. |
Border poles 2091 The border makes some angles here. I just could picture this 2091. |
Small lake East of the 2091 pair there is a small lake. The border goes right through it. I wanted to go to the next bordermarkers (2090) which you can already see on the background, but shortly after making this picture a car with border guards arrived. As it was not permitted to take pictures, I decided to leave. They wouldn't have left me alone. |
Office in Gołdap On my way back to the tripoint I passed Gołdap. In a flash I saw a bordermarker in a garden. It was the garden of the local border guard office. I stopped there. The area of the office was well protected with fences and cameras. |
Borderpole Through the fence and the gate I could picture this border pole. Some people were coming from the office and left through the gate but they didn't allow to go in and take a better picture. What a pity! The number 2066 on the borderpole might refer to the pole on the bank of the lake Jezioro Gołdap. |
Lithuanian site I was a bit surprised to see a tractor with a sort of plough. I'm sure they use this to pough the sand strip. Again I made a pictue through the fence. Now I decided to go to one more easy te reach border point (Zytkiejmy) and not to call the border guards again. |
