Bordermarkers 101 - 110
In the area of the Vanigõjärv (Lake Vanigo).
I was on the Northern part twice, april 2016 and July 2017. What a difference!

In the woods and again much water. To make inspection possible there is a nice gangway. I used it to keep my feet dry.
It was just out of the 10 meter zone, I hope...

EE-RU 20160415 Gangway
Due to the frost it was a bit slippery on the gangway, but I could keep my balance. You may notice some ice on the water.

The border makes a 90 degrees angle here. That's why it looks like this picture was taken on the border strip but it isn't.

Some work to do to clean up the border zone here. It's a mess with chopped trees, branches and mud.
Luckily I could use the fast gangway to move.

It looks like there is a path coming to the border on the Russian side. During all my visits in these quiet area, I never saw any activity on the Russian side.
On the Estonian side there is a red stick. I don't know the meaning of it.

Close to the lake, Vanigõjärv.

A very nice and quiet spot at the lake (Vanigõjärv). I rested here for half an hour before going back to the car and I really enjoyed it. There is even a small bench, to be used by the Border Guards.
In the lake the border makes an angle.

The other side of the lake. Bordermarker 110 I couldn't find. In the lake the border makes an angle, but I didn't notice any sign of that.

This was in April 2016 when there was still water in the lake.

Vanigõjärv
I returned to the northern bank during my July 2017 visit. The lake was empty, there were construction works. Border Guards told me that the lake is being cleaned. It's easy now to recognize the border.

Vanigõjärv
Taken from a different position. Where the border makes an angle, there should be at least one border marker 110.
But not yet.

When you point with the mouse on the picture, you see a zoomed picture. At the end of the yellow line you can see the border markers on the northern bank.

EE-RU 20160415 Border marker 110A
On the Estonian side there is a BM 110A where a creek which is the border reaches the lake Vanigõjärv. The creek "Miikse oja" starts here and ends in the river Piusa.

EE-RU 20160415 Border marker 110B
During my July 2017 visit, I found the new erected 110B as well.
