The car we spotted earlier must have been somewhere here.

Looking back
A good view of the open space, the angles in the border and on the Ukrainian inspection roads just right of the bushes.
The forbidden inspection zone between the border fences in Ukrain, what the Russian called "система" is very narrow here. And
they are crowded by patrolling soldiers. We saw some on those inspection roads but they didn't react.

Again we met some Ukrainian soldiers who were patrolling along the border. Conversation is always difficult, but as we were on the safe
side of the border, there were no problems. Again, they crossed the border for the usage of the path on the Slovakian side.
They were thankful for the pack of Dutch syrup waffles we gave them.
And as you might expect, one of them made this picture...

Ukrainian soldiers
There they continued their patrol.

View at Vetrová Skala
An interesting picture: on the left the border and the strip on the Ukrainian side. The forbidden zone in
Ukraine is very narrow here and that explains the presence of the soldiers.
The hill on the background is called Vetrová Skala. You see how the forest is split by the border which runs over
the top. It's the higest point in the area, 1025 meters. Further details: see border markers 202 / 203.

Something went terribly wrong. For some strange reason I deleted all pictures between here and the end
of today's hike at BM 170. So all the next pictures are made by Eef Berns who was so kind to lend them for my website.
