Bordermarkers 11 - 20
From the Pedeze into the swamp. The stretch with the long gangway.

Map BM 11-20
Text at map. From the Pededze along a small creek and then a sharp angle over the swamp. The map says 'wood', but there 's little wood there.
EE-RU 20160415 Border marker 11
The Pededze almost reaches the small road from Misso to the tripoint. Only a marker on the other bank of the river. On that side there are some fences to prevent border crossing.
Border marker 12
Very close to the road near the small village Kiviora Veski. Here the border leaves the Pededze. The river bends and crosses the road. The border follows a small almost dry creek from here. Again two border posts on both sides of the creek. Here the road is definitly less than 10 meters from the border.
If you ever want to see pair of these border poles, this is the right place to do it!
Point with the mouse on the picture for a view from the south on the border.

EE-RU 20160415 Border marker 13
Along the same road, also easy to reach. Here again both an Estonian and the other pole.

EE-RU 20160415 Border marker 14
The road bends a bit to the west but the border still follows the small creek.

EE-RU 20160415 Border marker 15
In April 2015 there was no Estonian marker yet.
When I returned in July 2017 it was there.

Border marker 16
The most western part of the country east of Estonia if you don't take into account their exclave.
A sharp angle to the left (east) here. The border leaves the creek and continues uphill. The copy on the other side of the border is sitatued a bit off-hill on the other side and was not that easy to discover from this side.
To enable border patrol the Estonians made a small gangway to cross the creek. Many warning signs warn you not to leave the gangway as you will end up in the territorium of rude murderes. Point with the mouse on the picure to see the situation with the gangway and the 'SEIS"-signs.
For now, this is the last new Estonian border marker. Untill BM79 (Luhamaa bordercrossing) there are no new bordermarkers placed yet.

EE-RU 20160415 Border marker 16A
During my summer 2017 visit I found this 16A on top of the small hill which gives a view over the swamp.

EE-RU 20160415 Wooden gangway
A look at the very long gangway. It was quite an experience to walk on it. One wrong step and I was ending up in the water and the swamp. I had to be very careful but I didn't make any misstep.
It looks like this gangway is freely accessable, at least there are no signs forbidding the access.

EE-RU 20160415 Border marker 17
Surrounded by water and dead trees. Very surrealistic and impressive.

I came back here in summer 2017. In the meantime all Estonian border markers are placed.

EE-RU 20160415 Wood
More dead wood and water. I was here in the early morning at sunrise.
Overwhelming and impressive!

EE-RU 20160415 Border marker 18
In the middle of the swamp I found this marker 18. Also an Estonian picket with '18'. It will not be easy to place any border marker here.

EE-RU 20160415 Border marker 18
On the left border marker 18. Again surrounded by dead wood and swamp. The gangway makes it possible to sea all this beauty.

EE-RU 20160415 Border marker 19
Again on land.

EE-RU 20160415 Border marker 20
Only a few hundred meters of dry land.
