Bordermarkers 0661 - 0670
Between Săiți and Zviozdocica. Crossing a former road, a local border crossing and a small lake where I missed one border marker.

Along the same former road as BM 0656. Here the road is also closed. On the background you see the barrier. The sand roads in this rural, agricultural area are only used by farmers. They don't have to cross a border.

Local border crossing Săiți
I'm always a bit nervous when I have to pass a border crossing but it seemed the staff here was informed about my arrival. They allowed me to take pictures and to walk along the border to BM 0663, about one kilometer from there. Not much activity here. Before independency in 1991 this road led from Căușeni to the south but now it ends in Lisne, a very small village in Ukraine. Via sand roads you can reach Hannivka. The continuation of the main road is cut twice (BM 0676, 0678)

Situated between the border crossing Săiți (Postul Vamal Săiți) and the Ukrainian side 'Lisne' which is still in use. Again a huge concrete sign displaying prosperity and the wealthy resources and products of the region.

Border marker 0663
About one kilometer from the border crossing Săiți, I had to walk. The area is a bit hilly here. On the way I passed a sign 'border protection strip'. Not clear for me why they placed it here in this desolated area.

From 0663 to 0664 was a long journey by car as I had to make a huge detour via Căușeni, Tocuz and Zviozdocica . There were no small roads which I could take unless I would have a 4 x 4 car but I hadn't.
When I arrived in Zviozdocica I was checked by border guards who scanned the area with their binoculars. They had a very friendly English speaking colleague from FRONTEX which was highly interested in my activities. So I got all cooperation.

BM 0665, not found Border marker 0665
I overlooked this one during the September 2023 expedition, which I only discovered too late. The border runs here through a small lake ans makes a slight angle here. The border marker is situated on a small pier.
Went back to this place in April 2024, then easily found.

Border marker 0666
The border runs up the small hill and makes a very slight angle here.

A small forrest on Ukrainian side. On Moldovan side there is only a narrow path, still climbing up.

EE-RU 20160415 Border marker 0668
BM 0668 and 0669 are very close to each other. On Ukrainian side bared wire to avoid illegal border crossing to Moldova to avoid military sercive.

Border marker 0669
Only 60 meters from BM 0668. Again bared wire instead of a ditch + wall to avoid finding an escape from war.

Border marker 0670
Again coming into open terrain. We are almost at the top of the hillock.
On the second picture the view over the road to Zviozdocica in the valley. The village itself is hardly inhabited. Most houses are empty and deserted.
